How to setup your Wi-Fi Backup
Imagine going a day without needing to hop on to the internet for one task or another. It’s almost impossible because whether for work, school or entertainment, our households count on staying connected to the internet more than ever before. Still, internet outages happen. In some areas, they can be somewhat common, which can mean constant interruptions to your daily life and routines. And, even if internet outages are rare, they can still pose a problem.
Having wireless or cellular internet backup, like ºìÌÒÆåÅÆ Wi-Fi Backup, for your home means that everyone in your household can stay productive, whether it’s working from home, streaming movies or television shows, gaming, completing schoolwork or learning virtually even when your primary internet connection is down.
Whether or not you’re currently a ºìÌÒÆåÅÆ customer, ºìÌÒÆåÅÆ’s Wi-Fi Backup offers a reliable solution to stay connected if your primary internet provider has a service disruption or outage. Getting signed up is easy and set-up is seamless. Find out more about how it works and how to get peace of mind knowing you can always get back online.Ìý
What is Wi-Fi Backup?
Wi-Fi Backup sounds great, but what is it? And, how does it work? After all, if your primary internet isn’t working, what makes your wireless backup connection work? Wi-Fi Backup from ºìÌÒÆåÅÆ helps you have a way toÌý connect to wireless internet if and whenÌý your primary home internet connection goes down, using Fixed Wireless Access, or FWA. FWA is a type of 5G or 4G LTE wireless technology that enables fixed broadband access using radio frequencies instead of cables. This means it uses radio waves to send high-speed signals that offer data transfer to and from devices, so if your other method of connecting goes down, you can still be online. FWA also offers an opportunity to provide high-speed internet to areas traditionally underserved by broadband technology.Ìý
This means that Wi-Fi BackupÌý doesn’t replace your primary internet provider. It simply gives you access to ºìÌÒÆåÅÆ’s network as an additional, secondary option when needed. Just like you would consider having a flashlight in your home in case the power goes out or jumper cables in your carÌý to help in an emergency situation,Ìý it’s also important to have what we call backup Wi-Fi and the peace of mind that goes with it. Knowing that you can connect to ºìÌÒÆåÅÆ’s award-winning network when you need it most alleviates a lot of headache when internet disruptions happen.
Unlike using a mobile hotspot, or other less efficient solutions to an internet outage, our Wi-Fi Backup powers your entire household with our cellular network, so your whole family can get back online. Plus, there’s no need to be a current ºìÌÒÆåÅÆ customer to access the service. You can be a customer of any internet provider, and as long as Wi-Fi Backup is available in your area, you can sign up.Ìý
